Consultancy opportunity at YWCA Rwanda

Young Women’s Christian Association (YWCA – Rwanda) is a non-governmental, not-for-profit organization that works at the grassroots level. It’s a volunteer membership organization for women. It was established in Rwanda in February 1995, following the genocide perpetrated against the Tutsis and in the response to the rising concern for the many widows and children left in its wake.
YWCA Rwanda was legally recognized by the Rwandan Government in September 2005 as Non-Governmental organization and has the vision of seeing the world where all women live free from poverty and where they and their rights are respected – More information can be provided on www.ywcaofrwanda.org

Young Women’s Christian Association of Rwanda (YWCA Rwanda) in partnership with International Funds for Agriculture Development (IFAD) implements the “ACCELERATING PROGRESS TOWARDS ECONOMIC EMPOWERMENT OF RURAL WOMEN IN RWANDA” which aim to strengthen the socio-economic conditions for the most vulnerable women’s in rural areas of Ngoma District. The project will encourage gender equity and equal participation of men and women in households’ management by using the famous GALS approach initiated by OXFAM Novib.

In the line of equipping programs’ champions on GALS methodology, YWCA Rwanda would like to recruit a qualified consultant to train 40 champions in NGOMA District.

TASKS AND DELIVERABLES

Support YWCA Rwanda in preparation of the logistics regarding the training on GALS.
Train Champions with all GALS tools
Support champions to set action plan for implementing the GALS approach
Motivate champions and support them while practicing different GALS tools,
Provide the training report to YWCA Rwanda
Advice YWCA team on actions regarding better monitoring and coaching of champions and groups representatives

DURATION

This consultancy work is expected to be conducted Since Tuesday 10th to Friday 13th 2016

REPORTING

The consultant will be directly reporting to the Program manager at YWCA Rwanda

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERTIZE

The consultant should have been trained as the approach national trainer
3 years of experience training staff and community on GALS approach,
More than 2 years of experience applying GALS approach in local not profit organizations
Having implemented the same project funded by IFAD is the added value
